Danger Club and Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade writer Landry Walker is our guest this week! We talk with him about his days at Disney Adventures magazine, the shockingly dark secret of how his Supergirl book would have ended, how the hyper-violent Danger Club came into existence and much more! Plus, Chris and Matt answer a particularly…kinky listener question.
This week we’re back to the regular format and welcoming Tim Seeley, creator of Hack/Slash, co-creator of the new Revival, Witchblade writer and artist on a ton of other stuff! We talk about how Tim deals with the pluses and minuses of creating an exploitation comic, how satire doesn’t always seem like satire, doing something new with the zombie genre, why he doesn’t draw his own stuff more, the prevailing temperature in the Hack/Slash universe and much more! Plus, we get the full rundown from Chris’ trip to Comic-Con!
Hey folks, some of you let me know in the comments that the latest episode of the show wasn’t showing up in iTunes. That confused me, because I saw very clearly that the iTunes feed had updated. But yesterday listener and Hundo Clubber Alberto De Jesus clued me in to what the issue might be, so I wanted to mention it.
If you manually subscribed to the show back when we were having to work around stuff on iTunes, you get a different feed from the people who just search for the show, click on it and subscribe. Frankly, I thought everyone had switched over to the new feed, so I didn’t update it last week. Turns out I was wrong.
So here’s what I’m asking: If you’re subscribed to the old feed, back from when I told you guys to type an address in manually, unsubscribe from that, find the show through search, and subscribe to that feed.
Chris was at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend and all attempts to find a guest co-host fell through, Matt’s wingin’ it himself this week! He answers your Twitter questions regarding Meatwad, his favorite (non-classic) Spider-Man stories, Miles Morales’ viability in non-comics media, Darkseid sleeping on the couch and much more! Plus, Chris checks in with some phone messages about the con’s ridiculous advertising!
Thanks to Hundo Clubber Evan Guidry for this photo from the con!
It’s our panel from HeroesCon 2012, right here for you to listen to! We take questions about Jason Statham, a few other celebrities, board games, gay characters in comics. what we’d call the current age, what superhero duo we’d be, and much more!
This week we welcome the co-publishers of the brand new Monkeybrain Comics brand on Comixology, Chris Roberson and Allison Baker! With them, we discuss how the whole venture came together, who they’re working with, rubber, roads, pie, book formats, Roberson’s own book on the imprint, salsa, the fallout (or lack thereof) of his public divorce from DC Comics and a ton more! Plus, Chris and Matt jab about some cereal for a while.
